Fantasy Football Shenanigans

I had to send this email to the rest of the owners in my fantasy football league after I made an illegal late season trade:

Esteemed BLI Owners,

Yesterday the following trade proposal was made by the
timmydunnIsmyhero franchise and accepted by Amish Rake Fight:

(timmydunnIsmyhero) Clinton Portis for (Amish Rake Fight) Darren McFadden

The trade was approved by the Commissioners office at 12:17pm EST
11/19/2008. The following is an excerpt from the approval form:

“[Trade] was approved by the office of the commissioner on the
grounds that the timmydunnIsmyhero franchise has been eliminated from
playoff contention and may use Darren McFadden as a keeper option for
next year.”

A call from a high-ranking official in the Hubbardston Powerpuffs
franchise noted a discrepancy in the information citing the draft
order which listed Darren McFadden as having been selected in the
third round of the 2008 BLI Draft. This should have been noticed by
the office of the commissioner, but due to the frenzy surrounding
yesterday’s trade deadline, it slipped through the cracks.

Please take this notice as a formal apology from the commissioner’s
office and a guarantee that there was no malice involved. We will be
restructuring our trade review staff in the coming weeks and the
partys involved will be reprimanded. I would also like to note that
the commissioner’s office does not believe there was any wrongdoing by
either franchise.

My Sincere Apologies,
Commissioner Dunn

Thoughts from Week 12

  • Matt Cassell is going to be a very rich man next year
  • I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Joey Porter looks too much like Biz Markee to be taken seriously
  • The Pats secondary still sucks
