Mint.com

I wish this site existed 10 years ago. I’ve tried to use quicken and other programs like it to track my finances, but it was such a pain in the arse to remember to put all your transactions there and keep up with it. A web based solution gives you so much more – track it from anywhere (they even have an iphone app) and a ton of nice graphs and charts to aggregate your data. Mint.com is the balls.

I hate to be a party pooper, but what is the guarantee that your data will be kept private? Being the luddite I am, I prefer to keep all receipts in an envelope and go through it once a year.

This is true. I guess the fact that there model provides data ‘read-only’ and their growing numbers along with no record of anyone having been compromised by Mint makes me feel ok about it. Of course, everyone is only one misstep away from having their data read.
